Sunday marked the end of the liturgical year. Of course that means next Sunday is the beginning of the next liturgical year, which ushers in the season of Advent.

While many people will see this as the beginning of the Christmas or Holiday season, we know the meaning goes much deeper as we work to center our hearts and minds on the true Reason For The Season.

Pastor Andy and Pastor Nancy will use the Advent season as a platform for a four-part sermon series and Bible Study based on Matt Rawle’s “The Heart That Grew Three Sizes.”

Here is how Cokesbury describes the powerful series: “Rediscover the gift of Advent that comes without packages, ribbons, and bows.

We don’t know why the Grinch hated Christmas. We just know he did. In this new Advent study, Matt Rawle explores the faith themes in the Christmas classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! including, how did the Grinch’s heart grow three sizes come Christmas morning? How did Christmas save the Grinch? Could it be that the very thing we think we hate is the one thing that changes our lives? This Advent and Christmas season, look at a familiar classic through the lens of faith and see how Christ speaks to us through our culture.”

You can also dive deeper by joining us for Advent Bible Study:

Mondays,  9:30 a.m. with Pastor Nancy

Tuesdays, 7 p.m. with Pastor Andy

Thursdays, 10 a.m. with Contagious Joy.

Sign up in the Narthex or call the church office.

We will order the books in the office or if you prefer you can order the Kindle version on your own.
