Dear Members of Lehman Church,
After careful thought, prayer, and deliberation, I have made the decision to retire from my position as the parish nurse of Lehman Church.
I cannot begin to express, within the scope of this letter, what being Lehman’s par- ish nurse has meant to me. I have spent 27 years working to fulfill the purpose of the parish nurse ministry: caring for the members of the church and community in wholeness of body, mind, and spirit.
There are so many wonderful memories! Hundreds of hospital visits, rehab, nursing home and home visits. Thousands of phone calls. Opportunities to help congrega- tion members with health services, counseling and grief support. All kinds of health classes, including Health for Life, nutrition and cooking classes. Exercise classes in- cluding aerobics, Zumba, Tai Chi and walking club. A special opportunity to help a family with preemie quadruplets—organizing, teaching and scheduling “The Quad Squad”. And in the last two years, working with the church and Lehman Preschool in managing our response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
While I am looking forward to the next chapter of my life, I will truly miss being a part of the pastoral care team. You will continue to see me as I will remain a member of the church.
My retirement date is April 30th.
May God continue to bless you all!
