“Blessed is the Church” uses Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount to frame examples of how clergy and laity met 2020’s challenges: the coronavirus pandemic, the economic uncertainty that it caused, and the racial injustice that the pandemic revealed, along with climate change ravages and political unrest. Four bishops narrated images of United Methodists involved in disaster response, COVID-19 vaccinations, feeding, and racial justice demonstrations among other compassionate acts.
