Registration is open for Session 1 of the 2022 Laity Academy, scheduled for Friday evening and Saturday, August 5–6, in-person, onsite at Cedarville UMC in Pottstown. Session 2 will happen online via Zoom Sept. 30 to Oct. 1. Planners invite all persons, laity and clergy, who thirst for learning that enhances faith and ministry.

Laity Academy is an opportunity to expand one’s faith, explore ones’ gifts and advance ones’ ministries in service to our Lord.

“An Invitation to the Thirsty” is this year’s theme, drawn from the welcoming prophesy in Isaiah 55, reflected in the Jews’ exodus from Babylonia and realized in Jesus Christ’s Great Commission. It invites all who thirst for a relationship with Christ to come. It invites all who need nourishment to come. It tells us that we need to make disciples of Christ as we spread his invitational message.

This is one of the primary goals of the Laity Academy: to provide an environment where persons can more fully develop their relationship with Christ and to learn how to grow ministries in order to make disciples.
