Health & Wholeness

Among the statements Jesus made about the
purpose of his presence on Earth is that he came so we
“could live life to the fullest”
(John 10:10).

Every account of Jesus’ ministry
documents how Jesus saw restoration to health
as a sign of the kingdom of heaven becoming present amongst us.

Receive care for the body, soul and spirit!

Health and Wellness Checks
We are blessed to have a parish nurse, which gives us the ability to do Health and Wellness checks on an ongoing basis, individually and church-wide. This includes visits to new moms, blood pressure checks, follow-ups after hospital stays, and of course, hospital, home and nursing home visits.

Older Adult Seminars
Offered in the spring and fall, these two-hour seminars consist of a presentation that focuses on a specific health topic, followed by a luncheon. All older adults and their friends are most welcome and encouraged to attend.
Medical Equipment Inventory
We have a variety of medical equipment available to loan or to provide permanently to those in need. Items include wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, potty chairs, canes, incontinence products and more.
Individual Health Counseling and Assistance
The parish nurse is available by appointment to provide information about medical conditions, medical treatments, and aid in obtaining health services. Regular blood pressure monitoring is also available for anyone with hypertension or the need to determine medication effectiveness. Parish members currently in the hospital, recently discharged from the hospital, new mothers, and those in rehab receive visits, follow-up, and assistance where needed.

The biblical narrative is filled with stories of God’s healing presence in the world.
This includes spiritual, psychological, emotional, social, as well as physical healing.

Visitation Ministry
A team of specially trained volunteers make visits on a bi-weekly or monthly basis to all those members of Lehman who are no longer able, because of age and/or infirmity, to come out to church. Our goal is to maintain the connection with our “insiders” as fully integrated members of our congregation. Contact Karen Douglass to find out more about joining this fulfilling ministry.

Blood Pressure Screening
Periodically throughout the year, we have blood pressure checks after Sunday services.
Our members also have the confidence that our parish nurse and other caregivers in our congregation can be consulted at any time.

But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.
Jer. 30:127
